Q:  Does insurance cover Springs’ services?
A:
You should check with your insurance company to find out if you have coverage for chiropractic, massage, or acupuncture.  Most plans do NOT cover massage therapy at this time.  Naturopathic Medicine, Hypnotherapy, Hydrotherapy, & Spa services are not covered.

You are responsible for contacting your insurance company to verify coverage & co-pay amounts and for obtaining prior authorization if required by your policy.

Patients who wish to use insurance benefits for the acupuncture portion of a Naturopathic & Chinese Medicine appointment will be responsible for their co-pay or co-insurance in addition to the non-covered portion of the service. Not all practitioners accept insurance. Please specify your needs when scheduling.

Acupuncture treatments for smoking cessation, weight loss, skin care, stress relief, and some other diagnoses are non-covered services by insurance companies.  Full payment is expected at the time of service. Package rates are available. See our website or PACKAGES Brochure for more information.

Q: What about Flexible Benefits plans?
A:
If you participate with the Flexible Benefits plan, you may be able to use your pre-tax money contributions towards some services. For massage therapy coverage, you will need a prescription for massage from your doctor. You may use the funds for acupuncture or chiropractic. Spa services are not covered, nor are vitamins, herbs, or mineral supplements unless deemed medically necessary.
 
Q: If I have been in an accident or injured at work, will my auto insurance or worker’s compensation pay for treatment?
A:
You must call your insurance company to determine coverage. You may qualify for acupuncture or massage therapy coverage if your doctor writes a prescription. You must provide the prescription and all insurance information (name of the company, phone number, address, claim representative name) including your claim number to The Springs to obtain pre-authorization for treatment.
 
Q: How do you maintain my privacy?
A:
As a department of Clifton Springs Hospital, we follow the same rules and regulations relating to confidentiality and privacy as all other departments. Your appointments will not be discussed with other employees, and your information will not be shared with any other practitioner without your written permission. We will never sell your information to any third party, nor will we provide information to any other party unless required by law. You will be given the Clifton Springs Hospital Notice of Privacy Practices upon your first visit.
 
Q: Do I need a referral?
A:
In most cases, you do not need a referral for services. If you wish to use Flexible Spending benefits, you will need a prescription. Check with your carrier for details. We also ask that you obtain medical clearance before receiving some treatments (ie, any complications during pregnancy). If you are not sure if you need to call your doctor for a referral, call The Springs and we will point you in the right direction.

A:
The Springs website has extensive information about our services, fees, the history, and our practitioners. There are also links for other websites for more information. You may call us, email, or write to obtain more information as well.

Payment Methods
We accept cash, checks, traveler’s checks, money orders, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express credit cards.  We also accept Flexible Spending Account cards with a Visa or Mastercard logo. You are responsible for obtaining a prescription of medical necessity from your primary care physician if required by your plan.

Returned checks will result in a $15 returned check fee. This fee is in addition to any charges your bank may apply.

Payment is expected at the time of visit. If full payment is not received at the time of the appointment, or if you require our office to bill your insurance, coupons, discounts, or promotions will NOT be applied.

If you miss an appointment without calling, or cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you may be billed for the FULL service price of your missed appointment.

Prices are subject to change without notice. 

Discount & Coupon Policies
We offer a 15% service discount for seniors (age 65+). CSH&C Staff receive a 10% discount w/ ID.

 

Patients receiving treatment at Finger Lakes Community Cancer Center may receive $10 off 30-min, or $20 off 60-min massages with doctor referral or prescription.

Discounts & coupons may not be combined with other offers or promotions unless otherwise specified & are NOT applicable to insurance copays or coinsurance.

Discounts & Coupons may only be used if service fees are PAID IN FULL at the time of service.

*Notice to chiropractic patients with MEDICARE: Medicare does NOT pay for a CHIROPRACTIC EXAMINATION. Coverage is only provided for a spinal adjustment. Before a chiropractic adjustment can be rendered, a chiropractic examination MUST be performed at the initial visit.  Treatment fees for patients with Medicare include non-covered services. A special consent form is provided before your initial appointment explaining any non-covered treatments.

Gift Cards
Gift cards are available for purchase from The Springs reception desk during normal business hours.  Cards are available in any dollar amount and do not expire.  Instant Certificates can be purchased online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through our website!
